Bread. Bread in all it's yeasty, aroma producing, glory. That's the theme for the next round of Waiter There's Something In My...

I'm looking for Rye bread, Potato Bread, plain white rolls and simple milk loaves, ale loaves, scrumpy buns, sweet brandy buns, wheatgerm bread, soda bread and sunflower breads. Loaves studded with raisins, onions, herbs, olives or little pieces of meat. Perhaps a walnut loaf or a chestnut and hazelnut bread. Maybe some saffron breads or a lemon barley cob. Or how about a fougasse, a puff ball, a focaccia or ciabatta, a flatbread or wholemeal loaf, a pain de campagne or even a pain viennois..the choice, as they say, is yours.

Three Bread Rolls

Entries should be in by the end of the 25th of April. Please Link to this announcement (and the round-up, once it's up) email entries only with the subject as BREAD. (If you don't do this the likelihood is that the email will get lost) Please include your name, your blog's name, the name of the bread and a permalink to your post.

count me in!!!! i got loads of fresh yeast and flour at home. so expect some serious bread. wonderful event!

Nooooooo... you are doing this to torture me, the non-baker yeast-o-phobic!! :o)

Actually it will be a good excuse to cook outside my comfort zone - will have to start thinking what to make!

How can I resist? Great event, count me in.

Perfect choice as I´m in the mist of a bread-making frenzy, so you´ll probably get a few entries for me. I have a question though, can I submit a recipe I posted about on March 25th?

Technically Marce you are supposed to make something new, specifically for the event... but I guess if you update the post to include a link no one would realise.

Could I take part if my recipe uses store-bought bread as part of the ingredient - making something eg. stuffings out of store-bought bread?

What a great event!!I'm lookink forward to it already, but so many options to make!! glad the osterfladli turned out :-)

great event!!

Bread - I love to try new bread recipes! What a wonderful idea!

Do recipes have to be bread made from scratch or can they be something made with bread?

The intention is for bread recipes and not really dishes made with bread. Hope that doesn't put you off Deborah!

Hi Andy,

You are such an inspiration :) I finally wrote down my recipe for pain brioche all thanks to you! I am trying to e-mail you my entry, but I can't seem to find your e-mail anywhere on your site besides the mouse over in the top right corner. I am not sure if I got your address right since the mouse over kept disappearing as I tried to write it down. I'll try to e-mail my entry to what I think the address is, but would you mind sending me an e-mail so that I have yours?

Thanks!
-Helen

Hi
There seem to be some problem with the email I'm sending the entry to.
Is it spittoon AT andys-scribblings co uk ?

It's not working, apparently. Got a failure notice. Wonder if others have the same problem.

Hi Andrew - I would have loved to take part in this but the Fish & Quips and English Dinner Party plus the charity meal I am prepping for tomorrow zonked me out, - a week later and I would have been so there. Can't wait to read the round up. Plus you got a star mention in today's blog post anyway, so I imagine you should forgive me.

good luck

sam

Not to worry Sam, we struggled on with out you! I saw the mention, nice to know the wine turned out such a success.
