The closest township to Cape Town, Kayamandi, and a tour organised by the Stellenbosch Tourism Information Bureau. If you go ask for Tembe Koli to be your guide. In total contrast to the prosperous wine lands visiting a township is the only way to experience an important aspect of South Africa.
Annoyingly the camera was set on ISO800, rather than the usual ISO100. The quality is not too bad and perhaps imparts a little gritty realisum to the photographs. Difficult to select just three pictures from the 20 or so 'good ones' but here are three of my favourites. The remainder are on flickr.

Great shots - my camera lives semi-permanently on 800 ISO, which probably explains a lot abtou my photos!! Glad you got to go on a township tour as they are really eye-opening. I think you'll find, though, that Kayamandi is the closest township to STELLENBOSCH, not Cape Town...

I bow to your native knowledge; it was a packed trip and with all the fine food and wine one does have a tendancy to loose track of where... when... and why...
