Amongst the platters of Jamon, local cheeses, thinly sliced beef and some of the best bread I've ever sampled was the most delicious tub of 'Mermelada de Pimientos'. It accompanied the selection beautifully. Sweet and savoury at the same time with a delicious depth of flavour. Sadly though the deli store under the restaurant and run out so I didn't buy any.

We climbed the rickety wooden staircase from an atmospheric, if dim and dusty entrance hall, to enter a riotous hall, packed to the old rafters with hordes of holidaying Spaniards. The building was originally the St. Lazaraus Hospital and hostelry where pilgrims on their way to Santigo rested, and cured their ailments and now houses the Prada Restaurant.
