Just by chance I had 'back of the cupboard' remains of all the ingredients required for these Osterfladen. The recipe was one of the entries for last months Waiter There's Something In My... wonderfully described by Eva of the The Golden Shrimp. Osterfladen are traditional Easter treats down Switzerland-way and rather tasty they are too, especially with the addition of a little cream!
Osterfladen
Mine appear a little smaller than Eva's original; I managed to make a dozen and still had plenty of filling left over. The baking time I reduced to a little under half-an-hour. Lovely differences in textures from the crisp pasty, the crunch of the almonds, the softness of the centre and the juiciness of the sultanas make these really delicious little treats.
