I brought a ready-meal yesterday. Terrible ain’t I? All for research of course – which of the supermarkets wines would go best with their mixed fish pie. I brought some chunky oven chips too. Potato topped pie AND chips!

The pie was actually quite tasty – even if the filling wasn’t evenly spread. All that spinach in one clump… prawns down one end, generously sizedfish bits down t’other.

Hey… That actually *looks* nice! Not bad, though M&S food items do cost a lot, at least here. They don’t sell frozen/refrigerated items here, though. (Hmm, when the instant fish pie looks that good, I think it’s a sign I should try to make my own!)
Maybe they thought the customer was going to mix everything up before eating?

i love the way that fish pie is made…i’m not so used to eating frozen ready to eat food..but since i moved here in france I noticed that there are some items that are not bad at all :-)

This was a chilled pie, not frozen, dhanggit. Even I have to draw the line somewhere! :-)
They can’t be that difficult to make so will ‘have a go’ soon. Looking forward to reading your about your creation manggy!

This looks very tasty, even if the filling quite obviously wasn’t mixed up properly. Those chips look especially fab.

Brave man indeed! Coincidentally, I made fish pie on Friday night, one of Rick Stein’s, lovely stuff.
