Purchased before Christmas these apples were intended for something... chopped walnuts too. I was sitting... well, you don't need to know the specifics but trust me when I say I found a recipe for Membrillo and Apple Tart with Honey and Walnut Cream in a magazine that was so obviously the intended dinner party dessert. Circles of puff pastry topped with sliced and peeled apples and a spoon-slitherfull of quince jelly (membrillo); baked for twenty minutes. Garnished with double cream whipped to stiffness before the addition of crushed walnuts and honey.
