Somewhere in Northern Madrid - Cocido Madrileno (Madrid Stew). Amazing value at just €10 a head that includes a huge bowl of soup with pasta, a bottle of highly drinkable red plonk, bread chunks and this huge plate with its mix of Chorizo, chickpeas, a chicken, masses of lamb and an odd carrot or two.

Even with my gluttonous appetite there was plenty left over. Not the most salubrious of locations as you can see from the graffiti, but typically Spanish and off the tourist trail which as a 'traveller' I hanker after. And yep, that is Roberto.

Woweee! That's a hefty plate of food! I remember Nick telling me about cocido Madrileno when he was working in Madrid last year and thinking that it sounded like an impossibly varied lot of stuff to put on one plate. And hola Roberto!
