Starter: the most perfectly cooked Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. Served on brioche. I forget what Douglas selected but it certainly wasn't as good as this!

Main: succulent Venison, lovely indeed but would have benefited from a side order of mashed potato. The Sommelier suggested glass of Chianti Classico (I neglected to record the producer) was a lovely match. The other half of the table went with a rather decent piece of fish and a glass of South African Sauvignon Blanc.

Desert: Sticky Toffee Pudding. The dollop was sadly not ice-cream but the stodgiest clotted cream invented, the only disappointing item over all the courses. The cake was a little heavy with the sauce a little light in application.
Douglas will, I am sure, compile a more interesting account of the lunch over on Intoxicating Prose. For me it is an exercise in using the camera phone and seeing how the results appear on-line. Bill for two set course meals (£18.50 each) including water, bread, two glasses of wine, 125 service charge and a coffee for Douglas came to £88.59

The presentation of these meals look very good with the exception of the main course where I think the waiter had moved the plate around too much.
I've made sticky toffee pud from this recipe a few times with great success, definitely worth a try:
