Last week in Italy.  Add/Read Comments

This time last week I was sitting on an Italian balcony - an under-sized bathrobe stretched around my midriff, cuffs tight halfway down my arms with a bottle of Prosecco by my side. To my right a half moon, indistinct from a slight haze, hung over the village of Rolle. to my left frogs outdid crickets on the music front until a manic dog bark from further down the valley halted their braying.

An espresso kept me awake not the wildlife. The jet black coffee concluded a multi-course dinner at Gigetto's, an award winning restaurant in the otherwise unprepossessing village of Maine.

Today though I am sitting in a baking hot English garden debating with no one in particular whether to have another G&T or go for an orange Bellini with my last bottle of Bisol Prosecco.

I think the only better thing than being able to say "last week when I was in Italy" is saying "this week while I'm in Italy." I'm completely envious. It's been too long for me...

love that photo of the mill

It was my first time in Italy... it was very nice :-)

I am *revoltingly* jealous. Have you tried the Funkin' foil pouches of white peach puree in Bellinis? I think they're available from Waitrose, and work very well in the absence of the fresh fruit.

I like a good Prosecco better than a lot of champagnes. I think a trip to the wine merchants is in order this evening; you've whetted my appetite.

I have seen the Funkin range - in fact I brought a load from Selfridges last year (before they appeared in Waitrose) and used them at our bloggers picnic at Henley Regatta

Ahh, Italy... just a month ago I was in Italy. It is a wonderful country and so photogenic, your photos are excellent! Here are some of mine: http://flagrantdisregard.com/flickr/slideshow.php?id=4672
