My hard drive has a folder labelled ‘unused’. Within a host of photographs intended to illustrate posts that haven’t yet seen the light of day. Some have been there a while and in all honesty are unlikely to ever support a blog post. There are a dozen wine bottles, whose accompanying tasting notes have long since vanished. There are also several food shots that I can’t remember which recipe I used – whether it was modified from a book, created by me or came from a website.

Today has been designated International Food Photography Day. A fine title if ever I heard one and a mighty fine excuse to clean out that folder and publish a few of those ‘unused’ and neglected photos.
