Been giving this some thought. With so many other sites now participating in this meme thinking of something original is a touch tricky.

- picking the bits off a chicken carcass.
Even though hunger has been abated from the full roast dinner, picking those little slivers of still warm meat from the bones is heaven. The fingers become greasy, flakes of meat and sinew lodge under the nail… - fruit straight from a tree
Biting into a just picked apple or gorging on fresh, dew-covered cherries while up a rickety ladder, wiping the juice from the chin after a slice of just picked mango in Malaysia, licking the Blackberry stains off the fingers while avoiding the hedgerow nettles… - Blackberry and Apple Pie
Simply the best dessert ever. Sugar encrusted pastry topping locally picked blackberries and slices of sweet apple, served with custard or maybe cream. It has to be cooked by my mum though... - Mr Whippy Ice-cream
But only on a blistering hot day in England. Flake optional. - any meal with friends
If the company is right – relaxed, friendly, lubricated by wine, where the food is good and offered in copious amounts, the conversation flows, whether in a restaurant or the comfort of my home. Honestly my favourite way to spend an evening….

Great list, and certainly no shortage of originality here! I love the 'bits off the chicken carcass' - so, so true! And does this mean I should finally break down and try a 'Mr Whippy'? Don't know how many blistering hot days I can find around here...

Picking meat off the bones is indeed a sensual delight. I feel sort of bestial, but (we are animals after all) the meat is so tasty.

Mmmm, picking the meat off a chicken (or ANY roast!) in the kitchen after the meal is reason enough to play host to a dinner party! And of course the best part is that any food eaten off a serving plate is calorie-free and does not count towards your daily intake ;-)

What a fantastic list!
I have to agree on picking at the roast chicken. I find it so hard to stop, there's always a wee bit more picking, besides it's quality time with the cats! ;-)

i like the inclusion of Me Whippy although I do believe the flake is obligatory.
when i was a little kid and mr whippys were 10p or thereabouts, i used to be confused by the '99', thinking it woud be funny if they cost 99p. I guess they have probably passed that price by now?

I seem to recall one of the icecream vans along the Thames here in Henley sells a 99 for £1.25. No idea how much the last one I ate was as some one brought it for me but it being Windsor it was probably more expensive...

Hi - just thought I'd leave a posting to say I liked your list so much I included on my own site. Still working on my top five but have a listing of sorts to keep me going!
Love the blog.
