Another image of those pesky mince pies. An attempt to impart a little festiveness to the image by the inclusion of holly, ribbon and so on. Originally intended as an entry to the Still Life With... flickr group (theme at the moment is Tradition, it is also going to be the illustration over on Wine Sediments for a post about wine and mince pies. Feeling Christmassy yet?

Andy, Indeed I am feeling more "Christmassy" after looking at your gorgeous pics. I have final examinations this coming week so have little time to prepare for Christmas. I won't be making mince pies, which one has to do in the US because they don't really sell them here - the ones I have tried didn't taste right. My good mother in NZ sent some over to me - lovely of her, eh? I might dive in and have one now as I continue with studying. Merry Christmas!

Your mincemeat tarts look so nice, I'd probably get suckered into eating one without realizing what it was.
