If you follow a few UK food blogs you can’t have escaped the mention of a foodie outing to Lille. For some reason I was invited along as well… before the combination of wine at lunch, a beer tasting and champagne hit home I managed a few photos.

How many bread shops do you know illuminated by a chandelier? Shame I neglected to bring my polariser to wipe out those reflections but the first does show the buildings opposite. What I failed to notice at the time was that some of these loaves appear burnt..
