Ben Tish is the executive chef of Salt Yard Group and has overseen the opening of four restaurants under the group including Salt Yard. Ben is now chief Director for the group and is responsible for the food offering at all four restaurants.

Ben has established himself as cooking at the forefront of modern Spanish/Italian tapas style cuisine. He released the Salt Yard cook book in 2012 and has had recipes appear in The Times and other major broadsheets.

Ben has appeared on numerous cooking programmes on the Food Network including Ben Tish’s Spanish Christmas as well as Cooking Pork on Channel 4. He has also appeared on Market Kitchen, Saturday Kitchen, Drop Down Menu, Masterchef, Radio 4’s Food Programme and was the face for the British Meat Executives website.

The video below sees Ben discussing the importance of using quality ingredients in cooking and also knowing the provenance of what you are cooking. The video was shot at the recent Taste of London Food Festival with Discover The Origin. Discover the Origin is a campaign financed with aid from the European Union, Italy, France and Portugal to promote five key European products: Bourgogne Wines, Parma Ham, Douro Wines, Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese and Port.
