To be honest, until I read about these cream puffs in a old Times Style mag while waiting for my Chinese Take-way, the global phenomenon that is Beard Papa had passed me by. With a friend of mine up in town last weekend the opportunity to badger them to get me a box was irresistible; after all I did pay for the Chinese!

i walked past the store just last weekend my first thought was "what a weird name"! didn't have room for cream puffs... but next time, i will!

Man, the custard is the killer! That reminds me of one of famous bakeries in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia which sells cream puffs with pastry is so soft it is so different from either profiteroles or paris-brest.
